Western Ireland Tour, Day 1:  into Galway

Our final stop on this unforgettable first day was the ruined Cistercian Abbey of Corcomroe.  Rising up at the very feet of the Burren, this abbey was named "Saint Mary of the Fertile Rock," and dates to around the late 12th century A.D.
