Western Ireland Tour, Day 2:  the Aran Islands

The Aran Islands are renowned for their Aran Sweaters, and today that folk trade is booming.  The Aran Sweater Market in Kilronan satisfied all customers with various lovely, warm knit sweaters.

No pictures survive of the night on Arainn, though memory suggests Gooch dancing with a lovely 80-year-old lady, a fine accordion player, and perhaps a hostel that was less than accomodating.  But next morn, Wednesday the 10th, we rose early and caught the first ferry back to the mainland, to continue our sojourn northward into Connemara.
