Athassel Priory (Cashel Trip)

Athassel Priory is the largest medieval priory in all of Ireland, ranging over four full acres.  Built in 12th century for the Canons of St. Augustine, it flourished until its devastation and burning in 1447.  In the 14th century, a flourishing town existed around the Priory, and the bridge in the lower left served to connect the religious community to the secular community (see below).
